Draagbare schrijfmachines richten zich tot de thuisgebruiker. En die is in de 'Roaring
Twenties' uitgekeken op de zwarte doodskistjes: hij wil kleur! Chemiereus DuPont
schiet in 1924 te hulp met zijn revolutionaire DucoŽ-lak. Omdat die kan worden
gespoten, is serieproductie van gekleurde schrijfmachines eindelijk betaalbaar.
Tachtig jaar later blijkt uit de perfecte staat van deze machine bovendien hoe
sterk de lak wel is.

Portable typewriters are geared to home users. In the 'Roaring Twenties' they
have had enough of the black coffins and want color! In 1924, the chemical giant
DuPont comes to the rescue with its revolutionary DucoŽ paint. As it can be
sprayed, the serial production of colored typewriters at last becomes
affordable. Eighty years on, you can tell by the perfect condition of this
machine how strong the paint finish is.
