Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog wordt de Continental-fabriek verplaatst naar het door de
Duitsers bezette
België.
Omdat staal er tijdens en na de oorlog schaars is, zijn de nieuwe machines
helaas ondermaats en hun kopers misnoegd. De zaakvoerders verdwijnen met de
noorderzon.
En de fabriek in het Duitse Chemnitz wordt ontmanteld (en mogelijk meegenomen)
door de Russische bezetter. Zo valt het doek voor een ooit zo trots Europees
merk.

During the Second World War, the
Continental factory is moved to occupied Belgium. As
steel is scarce during and after the war, the new machines are, sadly, inferior
and the buyers dissatisfied.
The business managers do a moonlight flit. The factory in Chemnitz in Germany
is dismantled (and possibly carried off) by the Russian occupier. The curtain
falls for a once proud European brand.
